Toronto 2011: Oscilloscope Acquires Andrea Arnold's 'Wuthering Heights'

Oscilloscope Laboratories has picked up North American distribution rights to Andrea Arnold's adaptation of Wuthering Heights. Arnold, who previously directed a Michael Fassbender-starring indie titled Fish Tank, directed the updated version of the Emily Bronte novel. The movie features a cast of up-and-comers and premiered at the Venice Film Festival while also screening at TIFF. The movie won a best cinematography award at Venice and has been praised for its visuals. According to today¹s announcement, the company "plans to release the film theatrically in 2012, followed by releases on DVD and in multiple digital platforms." Heights is an Ecosse Films Production with Film4, the UK Film Council, Screen Yorkshire and Goldcrest Films co-developing and co-financing. Ecosse's Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae produced the movie with Kevin Loader. HanWay repped the film in the deal and is handling international sales.
