Syfy Films Finds Its First Project: George R.R. Martins Anthology Wild Cards

Syfy Films, the business created by Syfy Endeavors and Universal Pictures, has acquired rights to Wager On Thrones author George R.R. Martin’s superhero anthology Wild Cards with tabs on beginning a franchise. The effective sci-fi book series was launched later and will depend on tales by a few authors among people scribes, Melinda Snodgrass, remains attracted on write the feature script. Martin and Snodgrass will executive produce. The sale marks the initial for Syfy Films, which launched in December with expects to make two movies yearly by 2012 and hired former Electricity Comics professional Gregory Noveck in May as SVP Production. Wild Cards presents a great franchise chance due to the amount of material using this compelling fantasy series, Noveck mentioned inside the release announcing the sale. In Wild Cards, the superheroes live in a shared world through which different authors lead new figures and story lines. Martin and Snodgrass were among the authors that incorporated Roger Zelazny, Walter Jon Williams plus much more recently Cherie Priest and Paul Cornell. The books will also be modified into comics and role-winning contests.
