If I learn to scream, will it affect my singing?

I'm in my district choir for girls, and I'm in my school's advanced
girl's ensemble. I REALLY want to learn to Fry Scream. I think I'm on
the right track on learning it, but I don't want to mess up my singing
voice, because I absolutely love singing. So I'm wondering if I start
to scream, will my singing voice get messed up or affected at all?

In bands like Escape The Fate, Alesana, The Devil Wears Prada, and
some others, they scream almost all the time, and all of their voices
sound perfectly fine. I was just wondering what they're doing to
preserve their singing voices..?
